GUS HUNT

Gus served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), where he was responsible for the information technology strategic direction and future technology investment plan. He was the conceptual and motivating force behind the CIA’s decision to acquire a copy of both the Amazon Cloud and IBM’s Watson. Before becoming CTO, Gus served in varied analytic, operational, and technical leadership roles for the CIA.

He then move on to become Chief Architect and head of Strategic External Partnerships for Bridgewater Associates, one of the largest hedge fund managers in the world. In that role he was responsible for developing Bridgewater’s information technology strategy and executive relationships with the technology community enabling Bridgewater to keep abreast of technology advancements.

Gus later served as Managing Director and Cyber Security Lead for Accenture Federal Services (AFS). In this role he was responsible for building a differentiated cyber practice for AFS to enable its federal customers to alleviate immediate pain points, securely migrate to the cloud, and rethink cyber security for the 21st century.

Gus began his career in 1979 working as an aerospace engineer for Rockwell International and General Research Corporation designing advanced manned space flight systems and satellite orbital transfer vehicles.

Gus holds a BE and ME in Civil/Structural Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
