Dean is a Venture Partner at the firm, leveraging over two decades of elite public safety leadership, high-stakes operational execution, and large-scale regulatory strategy to scale next-generation GovTech, Defense, and HealthTech innovations.

Dean began his career in emergency services in 2003, quickly moving into strategic leadership. He served as a foundational architect of Washington State’s first Regional Fire Authority, a complex multi-municipal consolidation that required navigating regulatory frameworks and aligning organized labor, elected officials, and local communities to streamline regional operations.

Throughout his career, Dean has excelled in risk mitigation, compliance, and clinical response. As a Deputy Fire Marshal, Certified Fire Investigator, and Professional EMT, he has managed high-stakes investigations and served as a Board Member for the Pacific Northwest Fire Investigator Association. His field-tested crisis management is underscored by his response during the 2017 Las Vegas mass casualty event, where he orchestrated critical medical logistics and crowd triage under extreme pressure—actions that earned him the prestigious Life Safety Accommodation award alongside honors from the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and FDNY.

At the venture level, Dean utilizes his deep domain expertise to source and accelerate startups building for national resilience, public safety infrastructure, and healthcare security. He is a passionate champion for workforce wellness and mental health technologies, drawing from his background as an emergency medical professional and a nationwide speaker on advanced trauma recovery modalities like EMDR and equine therapy.
